Our Favorite Maui Stops for Families (That Parents Actually Enjoy Too)

When you’re visiting Maui with kids, it can be a mix of magical… and a little chaotic 😅

We’re big believers that you should be able to enjoy the island just as much as your kids do—and sometimes it’s just about knowing the right places to go (and when).

These are a few of our favorite spots we always recommend to families—places that are easy, fun, and feel like a treat for everyone.

Droplets – Wailea

116 Wailea Ike Dr Suite 2105, Wailea, HI 96753

If you’re staying in Wailea, this is such a good little stop to have on your radar.

Droplets is one of those places that just feels calm the second you walk in. It’s clean, minimal, and perfect for a quick reset in between beach time, pool time, and everything else that comes with traveling with kids.

It’s an easy one to pop into without it feeling like a whole production—which, if you have little ones, you know is everything.

We love recommending this as a “take a breather” kind of stop—especially on those days where you’re trying to fit in a lot but still want a moment to slow down.

Sail Maui

If you’re looking to get out on the water, Sail Maui is one of our favorite experiences to recommend.

They do such a great job creating a really relaxed, beautiful experience—whether it’s snorkeling, a sunset sail, or just being out on the ocean. It’s one of those things that feels very “Maui” in the best way.

That said—this is also one of those moments where having a little help can make a big difference.

For families with younger kids, sometimes it’s more enjoyable to either:

  • have an extra set of hands along for the experience, or

  • plan it as a parents’ outing while the kids are back at the house relaxing

Either way, it’s one of those things that’s 100% worth doing while you’re here.

Tobi’s Shave Ice – Paia + Wailea

137 Hana Hwy (Paia)

1819 South Kihei Rd (Kihei)

This is always a hit—kids and adults.

Tobi’s is one of our go-to recommendations because it’s just easy. It’s fun, quick, and feels like a treat without needing to plan your whole day around it.

Whether you’re stopping through Paia or staying in Wailea, it’s one of those places that instantly makes everyone happy.

It’s also a great little reward stop after a beach morning or while you’re out exploring—something simple that feels like a highlight for the kids.

A Little Note for Parents

One thing we hear all the time from families visiting Maui is that they want to do all these amazing experiences… but also wish they had just a little more flexibility.

That’s honestly why we created Professional Nannies Hawaii—to give parents that option.

Whether it’s:

  • a date night

  • a sunset sail

  • a longer excursion

  • or even just a few hours to reset

having someone you trust with your kids can completely change how your trip feels.

If that’s something you’re considering at all during your stay, we’re always happy to help connect you with one of our nannies.
