Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch | Throughout October

It wouldn't feel like October on Maui without a trip to the pumpkin patch!

Kula Country Farms' annual Pumpkin Patch is open throughout October and makes an easy Fall Break outing. Pick out a pumpkin, wander through the farm, visit the children's garden, check out the animals, take some family photos, and grab something from the farm stand.

The Upcountry views alone make this one worth the trip.

Good for: Toddlers through older kids

Weekday mornings are a great option if you'd like to avoid some of the weekend crowds.

Spend a Day at Maui Ocean Center

Family exploring marine life exhibits at Maui Ocean Center

Maui Ocean Center is always a solid option during school breaks—especially if you need an activity that isn't dependent on perfect weather.

Kids can see sharks, rays, tropical fish, sea turtles, and other marine life while learning more about Hawaii's ocean ecosystem.

Where: Māʻalaea
Good for: All ages

If you have little ones, give yourself plenty of time rather than trying to rush through the aquarium.

Visit the Alpacas Upcountry

For something a little different, visit Maui Alpaca in Makawao.

Their guided farm visits give families an opportunity to get up close with the alpacas while enjoying an easy Upcountry outing. Visits are approximately an hour, making this a great morning activity for families with younger children.

Make It a Māʻalaea Family Day

If you're already heading to Maui Ocean Center, turn it into a full Māʻalaea day.

Maui Golf & Sports Park is nearby and offers mini golf, bumper boats, climbing, and other family activities.

You can visit the aquarium in the morning, stop for lunch, and add another activity afterward depending on how much energy everyone has left.
